Digital Marketing Executive

As a part of our continued growth in e-commerce and digital operations, Andertons Music Co. seeks a competent, enthusiastic digital marketing executive to join the team. Reporting to the Digital Marketing Manager, the successful candidate will be joining a fast-paced team of passionate musicians and digital professionals. With the support of our team, you’ll be expected to hit the ground running, bringing your own unique ideas to the table.

Up to £27,000 OTE (including a performance bonus which can be activated upon successful probation)

With the guidance of our Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll be expected to support Andertons Music Co. across a number of key marketing channels and activity. This role presents a great opportunity for the right candidate to further their career in Digital Marketing.

Working from our purpose built office space in Guildford, the day-to-day aspect of this role is varied and would ideally suit a proactive marketing graduate or marketing junior looking to take the next step in his or her career. This really is a hands-on role, that will allow you to gain experience across a number of exciting digital marketing platforms as well as learn about new and emerging channels.

Key Responsibilities

Develop new marketing initiatives to better engage with existing customers and attract new customers

Andertons has a large existing customer base and the potential to acquire even more customers. Whilst business growth has been good, we believe that by focussing on the idea of audiences, we can further grow the customer base and reach more customers, including new audiences who we may not have served before. We would like you to take ownership of developing marketing activities with the idea of audiences at their core. This should be with the aim to affect both acquisition of new retail customers for Andertons, and retention of existing customers, increasing their lifetime value to the business.

You’ll craft exciting digital campaigns that move the metrics that matter. With the guidance of our Digital Marketing Manager, you’ll be expected to support Andertons Music Co. across a number of key marketing channels. You’ll also be responsible for proactively suggesting and executing multi-channel digital campaigns and working with other teams in the business, such as purchasing, video and content/SEO.

You’ll be able to cherry-pick the most effective tools and resources to unlock and activate audiences. This includes:

  • Researching and developing new ideas for audience retention and acquisition
  • Being able to quantify these new opportunities to the business
  • Implementation of marketing opportunities across all digital media channels
  • Working with key stakeholders in the business to deliver and report on successes

Support commercial, reactive and seasonal marketing requirements of the business

Alongside new initiatives stated above, you’ll also have a part to play in ensuring we’re on the ball with the day-to-day marketing of the business. This includes getting under-the-hood with a number of digital channels to help provide a first-class shopping experience and monitoring the performance of our site in search engines through to coordinating email blasts, listed below in more detail.

Search Engine Optimisation
  • Conduct keyword research
  • Technical SEO
    • Link Building
    • Basic Site Audits (using SEMRush)
  • Content SEO
    • Landing Page Creation
    • SEO acquisition planning
    • On-Page SEO Improvements
    • Create SEO copy while maintaining the Andertons brand voice
Email marketing
  • Maintain and help to grow Andertons email marketing database
  • Creation of ad-hoc email templates and email content
  • CRM & Email Automation campaigns that include social media advertising
  • An awareness of Customer Lifecycle and customer activation 
General Marketing Activity
  • Competitor analysis
  • Arrange and oversee assets required for marketing use
  • Contribute to team-wide brainstorming
  • Seasonal marketing activity for e-commerce
  • Support key supplier product launches
  • Leverage third-party marketing opportunities & Andertons events
  • Social Media & Influencer Out-Reach
  • Maximise the value of Andertons Social Media and PR mentions
  • Contribute to the company social media schedule
  • Coordinate digital competitions

Support the needs of the wider business’ sales campaigning

The wider Andertons’ business is regularly promoting initiatives to support commercial sales. Where these initiatives involve marketing activities, you may be asked to manage additional tasks in addition to your core responsibilities. Some examples might include support for company events, video marketing, brand marketing and PR.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Experience: 1-2 years in a digital marketing role
  • Knowledge and an interest in the products and brands we work with
  • A strong interest in SEO & other digital channels
  • An awareness of and experience using Google Analytics
  • An understanding of customer lifecycle and email marketing
  • Experience using social media in a professional environment
  • Ability to plan strategic brand content
  • Ability to respond swiftly and tactically to business priorities and needs
  • A clear communicator with first class written and spoken English
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Naturally stays current with the latest marketing trends and best practices
